APP Pro Domenika Turkovic shares her experience at the 2026 Humana APP Louisville Open
What a long day, guys! But we are wrapping it up with a little bit of pizza and pasta and some skincare routines, taking it super chill and we're actually gonna watch a little bit of Demon Slayer to fully wind down.

I am so proud of the progress that I've personally made on and off the court, and especially the progress that Jay and I have made as a team, so super pumped about Sunday. First mixed Championship Sunday for myself in the U.S. so it doesn't get much better than that, and I'm glad that you guys are part of it too! Tomorrow I have women's doubles with a G-Money (Glauka). She is definitely my bestie on tour and I absolutely love playing with her and I'm super super excited! We're gonna start battling in the Round of 16 and then see where it takes us but we had a really good tournament last time in Columbus, so hopefully we can keep it going.
I will see you guys tomorrow morning. Have a great night!
Wow, I'm not sure what to say! It's my first Championship Sunday in mixed doubles at a U.S. APP Tour stop, here in Louisville! Who would have thought? My emotions are freaking through the roof, I am so happy with how we played as a team! Jay has been carrying me the whole day, he's been doing it so well. I trust him with all our patterns and everything, so playing-wise it's been awesome, he's such a great partner so I'm really grateful to get to play with him. We played some really tough teams especially in the semifinals, playing against one of my closest friends on tour, Brandon Lane, and Christine as well, they're such good players. I'm really happy with how today went.

Outside of that - I do have life outside of pickleball sometimes - I'm just trying to watch others and cheer them on. Kat is playing her semifinal right now, battling on the court with Richard. But I also found a dog! I freaking love dogs! I love all animals, I have two dogs back home in Croatia and I just found my senior pro friend and her English bulldog!

So between cheering, taking pictures and petting dogs I would say it's been a pretty good day! So we're going to wrap it up after this match and go eat because I can eat a five-course meal! And then we're going to wind down with probably a game of cards and Demon Slayer, so it's going to be super fun!
Ok guys, loving the day so far! We just finished our quarterfinal match in mixed doubles. Jay is playing insane - thank you for being big! We are moving on to the semifinals next; we've had great matches, we've played some really good players, it's super fun, I really like the partnership that we have. It's our second time playing together and I think we're starting to click.

Fun fact: in between matches I was actually taking pictures because the group that I'm staying with and some other players have decided that we're going to get our own camera and just start taking pictures of each other when we're not playing. That's been actually kind of fun - we can post every day which is important for our social media just to keep everyone updated and to get a following and connect with the community.

Something else I love to do in between matches is just hang out with my crew, we love to watch matches together and just cheer each other on and make each other better every day. I am currently watching the other quarterfinals, right now it's Kat and Richard playing against Allison Harris and David Bieger.
I am super pumped for our next match, it's going to be probably in about an hour-and-a-half, so stay tuned!

What an early morning this is! Good morning, Louisville! We are back today, this morning we had an early wake up time at 5:40 A.M. but we're excited for mixed day today. The outfit is all black because that's how we're feeling. And, this is unfortunate but also could be fun - I'm playing the first round against my women's doubles partner, Glauka, which is a little bit unfortunate but it's it's gonna be a good one as always. I'll keep you guys posted how that goes!
We had a very early breakfast but it was pretty good. You guys will see a picture once again and then I'll keep you guys posted!

OK, definitely winding down for tonight. It is currently 8:15 P.M. and we're starting at 8 A.M. tomorrow which means probably waking up at five. Five...that is very concerning, it's super early! But that's OK because we're gonna have a good breakfast, we're gonna get a good warm-up in and then we're gonna crush it on the court. I'm super pumped for mixed day. I'm just finishing the night with a game of cards, a little bit of Demon Slayer and a very interesting snack that I hope you guys will like!

As you guys can see from this photo I am a big horror movie fan, so if you have any recommendations, please feel free to reach out. I freaking love scary movies!

Anyways good night, Louisville!
Just finished a successful day on the court! I had so much fun playing today. I had a few tough matches and then I played Bobbi in the semis. I love playing her because she's a close friend and we always have fun on court. She hits some insane shots but super happy I was able to pull it through and then once again I'll play Championship Sunday against Kat Stewart! It's gonna be a fun one as always but I don't really wanna think about it until it actually happens. We're actually staying together, all of us, so she might slip something into my drink, but we're gonna find out soon!

After singles day I played a little bit of mixed doubles with Jay against Kat and Richard and we had some good points. We're definitely figuring out a few patterns and still working on what to do as a team because we only played once together, but we have the rest of the year moving forward, which is gonna be super good.
And of course, as a reward after the long day, I got Chipotle for dinner, even though it was only 5 P.M. but we will take it! Definitely love going to chipotle it is right next to the venue which is my favorite thing ever so you might see me there quite often! So just finished dinner and came back to the room. We're gonna shower and chill and then I'll keep you guys posted!
Good morning, Louisville! It's my first time being in this beautiful city! I was not sure what to expect but the courts are looking awesome and I'm super pumped to play over here. I started off my morning super easy because we were starting at 12 P.M. today so we had a nice little girls breakfast. Unfortunately, I was on cooking duty but that's okay because Kat and Glauka were also helping me!

Once at the venue I went to get the logos on my dresses and shirts so that I can compete later and represent the APP. After that we started off with a nice little warm-up. We actually do a very fun warm-up, Kat and I, we always start off with throwing a football, then we do some drills with the ball and we're really trying to make it fun but also very physical so that our body is ready for singles. After our singles warm-up we decided to hit some balls. It was actually fairly easy to find a court at the beginning because Thursdays are a little bit slower being singles day.

One thing I have to say is I like to come in a day or two early to the tournament, so we flew in on Tuesday night around midnight but luckily we had Wednesday morning to sleep in and we actually woke up super late at 10:30 a.m. but we had a super chill day. We went to grab brunch and then we hit some balls, played some women's doubles and singles. I usually like to come early just to get my body ready for the conditions and especially now we're playing inside of the convention center so the courts are a little bit different. The area is different especially when I'm spending a lot of time in Florida. Spending a lot of time in Florida, the humidity affects the play a lot so coming early actually helps me get used to the ball and the conditions.
