Players can register for APP Next tournaments through the APP Next Events tab and Pickleball Den. 

To register through APP, click on the APP Next Events tab and then select the tournament that you're interested in playing and click the register tab. This tab will take you directly to the tournament on Pickleball Den. 

Players will need a DUPR account to register on Pickleball Den and all scores will be shared with DUPR at the end of the event.

All players are required to complete an APP Waiver and a Chicken and Pickle Waiver.

If the player is 17 years old and younger then please text  the player’s name, parent’s name and parent’s email address to 618-663-4817 so that the APP can send you a separate Docu-Sign waiver.

Chicken N Pickle requires a separate waiver for each location and will need to be completed before participation. Click here for the Chicken N Pickle waivers.  Keep a screenshot of the acceptance page to show each day for entrance into the dining room.

The APP Next tournaments are three-day player development events. The cost is $450.

This includes 3 days of bracket play as well as on court training sessions and seminars led by Ken Herrmann and an APP National Team Coach. All players will receive a $30 Chicken N Pickle gift card to purchase food during the event. Players are accepted on a first come, first serve basis and are encouraged to register early. Payment is required at the time of registration on Pickleball Den.

The APP Next brackets are open meaning players compete together with no separation by skill or age.  

Tournaments play consolation brackets. If a player loses a match, the best they can finish is bronze. Doubles events held on Friday and Saturday will use traditional scoring, in which a team scores only when serving the ball.  

• Top side of the bracket & gold play the best 2 out of 3 games to 11 win by 2  
• Bottom side of the bracket & bronze play one game to 15 win by 2  

Singles events held on Sunday will use rally scoring, in which a point is awarded at the end of each rally to the player who won the rally. A player must win the game by 2 on the serve.

• Top side of the bracket and gold play one game to 21 win by 2 on the serve
• Bottom side of the bracket and bronze play one game to 15 win by 2 on the serve

Players earn points for each match win during the three-day tournament.  At the conclusion of the tournament, the $15k prize fund is awarded to the top five female and top 5 male players with the most points.

We invite all players ages 16-23 to join us for these three-day player development events. The age of the player is determined by the age at the start of the event. Players younger than 16 can be considered for a wild card into the tournament on a case by case basis as determined by our Tournament Director. Please email nextgen@theapp.global for consideration.

Yes, we follow all USA Pickleball guidelines.

APP Next events are USA Pickleball MMP sanctioned events. MMP (Medal Match Plus) allows a modified referee requirement for USA Pickleball sanctioned tournaments.  You must have a referee for the winner bracket and consolation bracket finals as well as the Gold/Silver and Bronze medal matches

Additional matches may be refereed earlier in the bracket to provide players with the experience of a USAP refereed match. Referees will be onsite each day to assist with starting matches and answering player questions. A portion of your registration is used to provide this service to the players during the event.

Players compete in multiple day events to determine the cumulative points earned to determine the top winners.

• Gold = 300 points
• Silver = 240 points

• All players finishing below 44th place will accumulate 20 points for each match won on the top side of the bracket and 10 points for each match won on the bottom side of the bracket

Starting with the 2025 APP Next Dallas event, all matches in men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles categories are eligible for APP Tour pro ranking points. The additional opportunities to earn APP Tour pro ranking points are designed to allow a smoother transition into the pro ranks for players age 23 and younger.
