America's fastest-growing sports has officially arrived in the Heart of America.

Known for its unmistakable blend of Midwestern hospitality, championship-caliber sports passion and a barbecue culture all its own, Kansas City is ready to welcome the energy and excitement of the world's first and world's best pickleball tour. This week, the APP Tour heads to Overland Park for the first time as the stage gets set for the 2026 APP Dillons Overland Park Open.

Hundreds of pickleball players from across the globe will head to AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk this week for four days of nonstop pickleball action. From amateurs of all ages, to the sport’s elite professionals, to the AARP Champions (50+) division, all will compete for ranking points, prize money and plenty of hardware leading up to national TV broadcasts on ESPN2 and CBS Sports Network.

Adding to the championship festivities on Sunday, Sept. 20, the longtime rivalry between the University of Kansas and University of Missouri is adding one more sport to its storied history – pickleball – where the club teams from KU and Mizzou will face off against each other as part of the Border Battle Showcase. Starting at 9 a.m. CT, two mixed doubles matches will take place on the Morton Championship Court, with the winners securing ultimate bragging rights between the schools. The second match will be streamed live via ESPN Plus starting at 10 a.m. CT.

FOUR MEANS MORE

Jack Munro and Richard Livornese, Jr. teamed up for their fourth consecutive men's pro doubles title of the season after defeating Etienne Blaszkewycz and Callan Dawson in Detroit. The win gave both Livornese, Jr. and Munro their fifth APP Tour gold medals of 2026, leading all men's pros. The duo are simply unstoppable right now, and once again represent the top men's doubles seeds heading into Overland Park.

KAT'S OUT OF THE BAG

Katerina Stewart held her opponents to just 15 total points as she cruised to her third women's pro singles title of the season in Detroit. Stewart's five gold medals are the most among all APP Tour women's pros thus far in 2026, and she'll look to defend her crown in Overland Park.

RONAN REIGNS

Ronan Camron battled his way to the men's pro singles title in Detroit, exacting revenge on Dusty Boyer in a rematch from Cincinnati earlier this year. The 21-year-old from Fort Myers, FL leads all APP Tour men's pros with seven (7) total medals in 2026.

HISTORY WATCH

Megan Fudge is the APP Tour's all-time leader in total career medals (92), a record she set in 2025 in Cincinnati. Fudge (32 golds) remains one gold medal away from tying Simone Jardim for the most career women's pro gold medals (33). Will Fudge break through in Overland Park?

A WIN FOR THE AGES

In one of the most thrilling comebacks in recent APP Tour history, Shelby Bates and Christine Maddox earned their first women's pro doubles gold medals of the season in Detroit. After dropping game one 11-1 and down 10-3 in game two, Bates and Maddox finished the match on a 20-1 run to secure the win in three games.

JAY DAY

One of 11 APP Tour pros to earn a triple crown, Jay Devilliers is set to make his highly anticipated 2026 APP Tour debut in Overland Park. Devilliers previously competed on the APP Tour from 2020-22 and Ranks Top-10 all-time in several APP Tour categories including: career gold medals (18 total), men's career gold medals (18), men's total medals (31), men's pro singles gold medals (6), men's pro doubles gold medals (6), mixed pro doubles gold medals (6), and most gold medals in a single season (13, 2021). Devilliers also played college tennis at Wichita State Univ. in Kansas, making Overland Park a fitting place to return to action.

BOBBI BRINGS IT

Bobbi Oshiro leads all APP Tour pros with seven (8) total medals thus far in 2026. The Hawaii native secured the women's pro singles silver medal in Detroit, and still seeks to reach the top of the podium for the first time this season.

FIRST OF MANY

Nicola Schoeman won her first career APP Tour gold medal when she and Richard Livornese, Jr. defeated Megan Fudge and Aidan Schenk to take home the mixed pro doubles title in Detroit. The 19-year-old Aussie is one of DUPR's top-ranked junior players in the world, and already has three (3) APP Tour medals under her belt in 2026.
